Do you want to Understand the Difference between Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and (Ro)Bots?
Let's start with AI. AI helps us learn from the past. For example, by combing through every medical journal for the last 30 years and tracking the effectiveness of a particular drug for a particular age, gender, or any other demographic group.
Machine learning (ML) predicts trends that are going to happen, based on history. For example, a ML system might predict that you should buy Nike stock this year, because all signs point to an uptick.
Deep Learning takes all kinds of information into account including written, images, audio, opinions on social media, buying habits, etc, and creates a unified profile of what we're dealing with based on multiple factors.
(Ro)Bots automate common human tasks, and can be guided by AI, Machine Learning, or Deep Learning. For example, a BOT can listen for email to come in, scan the document for the customer number, look up the customer on the legacy system, populate an excel file with the appropriate type of message, and send it the right person: Tasks the previously required human interaction. And if you add in AI engines like Watson, they can be an impressive tool for productivity.
